Hi,

I have an idea for a small solo service based business but I do not know how to go about setting it up. Are there any agencies that can help. What are the first things a new business should do to ensure that the business is a success?

First off what is a solo

First off what is a solo business? Sorry I have never heard of that before. The keys I think are to know your customers and make sure you can market it to those customers. Also make sure what you are selling, people want.

Business Planning

The first thing you should do is craft a start-up
business plan which would include the following:
A) Executive Summary
B) Company Summary
C) Products (or Services)
D) Market Analysis
E) Implementation Strategy
F) Sales Strategy
G) Management Summary
H) Financial Plan

You'll need something like this if you are
also looking to get external financing for
your start-up business.

Cash Flow

Also, as you begin to run your new business,
make sure you monitor your cashflow constantly.
Cashflow problems are the number one reason
new business fail.

A Solo business is a business

A Solo business is a business where there is only one person working it. I will be all things to the business hence the name Solo.

I have had a look at business plans and from what I see they can be as complicated or as simple as the person writing them up needs them to be. I hope this start-up will be self financing so I see the business plan being the lay-out of what I hope to achieve over a period of time.

New business start-up

I'm going to start a hot dog vending business in Jacksonville and I need all sorts of advice - particularly about licenses, permits and commissaries. Thanks.
